A Canadian Pharmacy is a Lifesaver for Some Americans
Many of you may have heard about the ongoing war between the Canadian pharmacy and the American pharmacy. The American FDA has recently been trying to crack down on prescription drugs imported from Canada to the United States. But why is this? What exactly got the FDA's feathers ruffled?
The FDA states that it is illegal to import any prescription drugs from overseas. Anything found at the United States border will be seized. But this shouldn't include a Canadian pharmacy. Canada isn't even overseas... right? That's what many Americans say who frequently cross over the American border into Canada to go to a Canadian pharmacy. This has gotten the FDA a tad angry.
Now why on earth are Americans going to a Canadian pharmacy? With the rising prescription drug costs and the lack of good affordable health insurance many can't afford to buy it in America. Canadian pharmacies often save people as much as 40%, if not more. For some people, a Canadian pharmacy is the only way they can afford to get their much needed medication to survive. Just recently, you can now order from a Canadian pharmacy online and have it mailed directly to your home.
The FDA states that getting prescription drugs from a Canadian Pharmacy is not safe. However, they have never shown any evidence of this. They also state that purchasing prescription drugs from a Canadian pharmacy will lead to lost jobs for us Americans. There is no evidence of this either. Besides, people still can't afford to buy there prescriptions in America anyways. In fact, some states (like Wisconsin and Texas) encourage people to buy prescriptions from Canada and they are even attempting to incorporate a prescription drug plan with Canada.
A Canadian Pharmacy is safe and legitimate. There is no evidence that a prescription from a Canadian pharmacy poses any health risks. They also insure the same quality and potency as American prescriptions but at a much cheaper price. To make you feel more at ease, all Canadian pharmacies ask that you have a prescription from your doctor and include you medical and allergy history before you can purchase any prescriptions. This is also the same if you order from a Canadian pharmacy online. Before ordering online from any company, make sure that the company has a legitimate address and that they provide a toll free number with live operators to assist you.
Purchasing prescription drugs from Canada is an answered prayer for many Americans. Some Americans wouldn't know what to do if it wasn't available. It gives peace of mind knowing that there is still an affordable way to get the prescriptions people need, even if the FDA doesn't like it.

Dark chocolate expands the coronary arteries
Circulation. 2007; 116:2376-2382. 20 november 2007 © 2007 American Heart Association, Inc.
Dark chocolate improved coronary Vasomotion and reduces the number of platelet reactivity. Andreas J. Flammer, MD; Frank Hermann, MD; Isabella Sudano, MD, PhD; Lukas Spieker, MD; Matthias Hermann, MD, Karen A. Cooper, MSc, PhD; Mauro Serafini, PhD, Thomas F. Luscher, MD; Frank Ruschitzka, MD, Georg Noll, MD; Roberto Corti, MD
Background Dark chocolate has powerful antioxidant properties. Coronary atherosclerosis is supported by the deterioration of endothelial function and increased platelet activation. Traditional risk factors, high oxidative stress and reduced anti-oxidant defense play a crucial role in the development of atherosclerosis, especially in the transplanted heart. So, rich taste of dark chocolate has the potential to make a positive impact on the graft atherosclerosis.
Methods and Results-We assess the impact of rich dark chocolate taste in comparison with cocoa-free chocolate control of coronary vascular and cardiovascular platelet function in 22 recipients in a double-blind, randomized study. Coronary vasomotion with quantitative coronary angiography and cold tests, and 2 hours after ingestion of 40 g dark (70% cacao) chocolate or chocolate control, respectively. Two hours after taking rich taste of dark chocolate, coronary diameter was significantly increased (from 2.36 ± 0.51 to 2.51 ± 0.59 mm, P <0.01), p =" 0.01)." p =" 0.04)">
Conclusions Dark chocolate-induced coronary vasodilation, improves coronary vascular function and reduces the platelet adhesion 2 hours after consumption. These positive effects were direct parallel by a significant drop of serum oxidative stress and were positively correlated with changes in serum concentrations of epicatechin.

CALORIES - FOR WEIGHT LOSS AND IN FOODS
Filed under Control your weight · Tagged calories, food choices, food scale, weight loss
Yesterday I had a couple questions concerning calories in foods and calories needed for weight loss and thought I’d address those questions here. The first question was how many calories in fruit and that was a pretty open ended question. What kind of fruit? How big a piece? How much are you eating? The way I now find out calories IN ANY FOOD is at www.calorie-count.com but there are many, many sites you can go to. Just google calorie counts! Now, once you get the calorie counts the question is - what do you do next? It doesn’t do any good knowing that a medium (138 gram) apple is 72 calories. I mean most of us will just say, okay, this is a medium and it won’t be that far off but I get pretty fanatacal when I’m losing (or trying to lose) weight and I weigh everything. I don’t want to cheat myself in either direction - by eating too much or, even worse, by not getting my calories worth! What if that was really only 50 calories and I counted 72. Oh my, the world is coming to an end!! Really that wasn’t a great example - a better one would be something that was 300 calories and I actually ate 350 - do that several times a day and I’m not losing any weight. So - do yourself a favor a get a food scale. They’re not expensive and will become your best friend. Most of them will weigh in ounces and grams and that’s important since sometimes it’s easier to do the gram bit. All labels have that on them.
Okay, so that answers how many calories in foods. Now the important one - how much of those food calories can we eat and still lose weight? Back to www.calorie-count.com or goggle. The end result will be determined by how much you weigh now, what you’re goal weight is, how much exercise you get per day, etc. I know that given my height (5′2″) and my weight (115-116) and my activity level (moderate) the most calories I can eat and still lose weight is 1,200. That’s not a lot for sure and the only way I can have more is to exercise more and I do that in the spring, fall and winter but not in the Tucson summer! By the way, no one should go below 1,200 calories to lose. Eating too little is just as bad as eating too much! What happens when you eat too little is your body thinks you’re trying to starve it so it will hold on to that fat for survival - not what you want. Given smart food choices and exercise losing weight doesn’t have to be a punishment. Just think of the results and how good you’ll feel about keeping that promise you made to yourself to get healthy!!
How to win the weight loss battle?
Author: Dr. Justin Joseph
Losing weight is the hardest life change you can make, I would say… maybe besides recovering from a drug addiction. Burning that fat takes intense motivation, support from family, a healthy diet and exercise routine, and courage. But when you’re struggling to keep it together and you fear you might lose the weight loss battle, you might turn to diet pills.
If your friends and family find out you want to try a diet pill, they’ll probably act very skeptical, trying to "save" you from something they’re ignorant about. Family and friends do that with a lot of things, out of the kindness of their heart, and they don’t mean to bring you down, so try to ignore it and keep focused.
So, are you decided on diet pills? You’ll want to first figure out what type of pill you want to try. The two most popular and effective types are fat burners and appetite suppressants. I personally have had more success with appetite suppressants such as phentramin-d because I was a bigtime snacker…. I LOVED doritos and those peanut butter filled cookies… oh and did I mention one time I drank 8 cokes in one day? My friend drank too much sugary cola too and I gave in to it. So, when I stopped eating and drinking so many bad sugars and simple carbs, I lost about 60lbs over a year.
My life is much better since I lost weight, so I can recommend appetite suppressing diet pills to you. Good luck and make sure you compare diet pills to find out which is right for you, because I can’t tell you what is best for your body.
